Meet your Icelandic horse at Hov Gård and learn the basics before a gentle ride across Hov beach and toward Hovsund. Your English-speaking guide points out Viking remains, traditional fish-drying racks, coastal views, and summer birdlife. No riding experience is needed.

Spend three hours at Tromsø Lyngshest meeting Norway’s Lyngen horses, grooming and saddling your assigned horse, then riding for about 60 minutes beside Grøtfjord and the Lyngen Alps. Guides speak Norwegian and English, and the small group is limited to six people.

“We loved the fact that we got to experience the "day in the life of" a horse owner; brushing, saddling up, and feeding the horse. However, the actual horse riding portion was lacking content, as our tour was carried out during winter time. It would have been nice to see more of the coastal area of Grindøysundet, but due to snow this was not possible on horseback.”
Meet a herd of Norway’s Lyngen horses at a family farm, groom and saddle your horse, then ride for about 60 minutes beside Grøtfjord and the Lyngen Alps. Your English or Norwegian guide shares local and Second World War stories. Groups are limited to six riders.

Visit Tromsø Lyngshest in Krokelvdalen for two hours with a Norwegian or English-speaking guide. Meet mares, foals, stallions, and young horses, hear how the Lyngshest served Northern Norway, and ride if conditions allow. The group is limited to eight, and riding is optional.
